Dr. Mahowald is the Director of the Minnesota Regional Sleep Disorders Center and Professor of Neurology at the University of MN Medical School. His primary interest is in education of medical students, residents, and fellows, with particular reference to promoting the concept of a truly multidisciplinary sleep medicine program.  For the past 25 years, the MN Regional Sleep Disorders Center has been actively involved in education of the general public with regard to the consequences of sleepiness – particularly in the classroom, in the workplace, and behind the wheel.
